Language Instinct

Fundamentally structuralist view of the world as language as a set of rules, a binary code like DNA which can create meaning in its grammar and that grammars absence.

I disagree with his assertion bending systems as the properties of combination in between the properties of their elements, as properties of elements can be emergent, or require a network effect in order to replicate. behaviors are this way and are not discreet. the properties of the elements can be the actors in ant behavior network

The Jump to Universality

the alphabet and numbers are two systems which exploded into universality through their evolutions to solve discrete and practical purposes for their users, those individuals continually re-enchanting their existence as cohabitational brain space, as living patters. Just like DNA, when there is the potential for universality, its latentency might guarantee its arrival, if possible along physics of the thing responsible. Computation might be universal as well, if we can get its conditions right.

gateway drug to universal darwinism, self reproducing black hole universes ahead, do not look back. neobiologic civilization beckons... information spawning information curling in on itself forever!

If Im collaborating with someone, I want the handoff as the file and a read me, with tags so we don’t lose information. I want it as a source document.

Something the internet does is split the mind and the body into discrete parts. We take pictures of ourselves, post text, create video, all function as discrete expressions of a personhood. this fragments the digital self from an already momentary locked through time embodiment into discrete traces of that time embodiment. Through this mechanism, we are greatly filtered, and then organized.

Painting by the numbers cannot square reality. Already through time we are severed occasionally from our past and futures through the existence of momentary perception, an ambiguous unites analog bit of our perception of time which when measured varies in length per the viewer. (the moment I paused to write this different from that same time unit when you perceived it.)

The discrete systems described in pinker and Deutsch are compelling stories of that attractive idea that were all just memes and dark matter. It’s really incredible what digital computational methods can do when expressing a universal form. But form is not the whole story in reality, as it intersects with matter, defining a realm of possible realities which greatly constricts the expressing of that universal form. Thus form is in relation to matter while also superseding it in its dimensionless note. (one can imagine the idea of a form fully or less fully abstracted throughout time in an idea such as goodness or Love, universal in scope, particular (and analog) in expression).

So then as we come to images, and for form of expression in which they can be formed, now we may speak of his space of expression the realm of possible combinations, supposedly undefined by actual space. their representation computationally must be constructed both by possible combinations first on the human corpus, but also into the mind of the viewer. We have two possible stopgaps now for complete expression shape. By the machine, to significantly surpass imaginable things, and then by the view to comprehend these lovecraftian impossibilities. Perhaps their image may precede their recognition, rendering them indeciverable, the mind unable to extend its knowledge far enough.

So then can they put my face in the movies? Sure, why the hell not. It’s not that much further till all recorded thought can be infinitely be remixed into any combination of intellectual media properties, memes run free inside idea space. Already we are seeing more complex stories playout on social media as cheap contexts grows and unregulated models gain viability.

Idea space plays out as this is this does that and forms intriciut chains that follow from a causal definition of relevant actors in the space. change any element of an individual actor and the scene reacts. Main character goes from hungry to happy, and, Act!

This sphere of possible forms, this extended remittable cognitive force, can be used to clear weeds through the jungle of near deep future space. near as it must be imaginable, deep as its possibility is unknowable. As the unconscious is plumbed by the waking mind, the image plums the future.

Sometimes people get a little too comfortable with big numbers and act like the number of grains on the sand is trivial.

Reality of Whole

Almost 0% of my knowledge is explicitly, at least, explicitly present. even when doing math, most of it’s not there till I call it to front, or better yet, subsume it completely.

I don’t understand any of the left brain right brain stuff, but he’s basically saying they don’t commuincate fully? I didn’t have a ton of time read this whole thing.

Can machine leaning be more wholistic? If it embraces more of our whole which is embodied. So maybe then, it’s not machine learning alone but a whole host of autonomous systems which could comprise a synthetic individual, all vying for control of the body. It would need subsumtive artitecture to give it base feelings and emotions, like hunger pain and reproduction. Its possible.

Digitally alone llm though, no way, it doesn’t have the data to get me, nobody does. even I don’t. Blending the system means bringing AI more into my world. it should physically hold and carries my hand while we talk. it should be taking the temperature inside m mouth and feeling that while checking my blood levels. Part of the ai should be embodied in various sensorial robots inside my home accomplishing various tasks from cleaning to organizing to temperature of my extended environment. it should also be always on, 24/7 attached in some way to me since birth.

Maybe then it could come close to really getting me. Probably not but maybe.
