The pull string painting method uses a painted string that is pulled across a canvas like a long streaky brush. The string is anchored on one end by an unmovning hand, or by compressing it against the page. There is no force of return, so its a single pull which generates the shape. String pull painting is commonly done as a craft activity because its fun for children and beautiful. There is even a craft pull painting app on the google app store. Also, its done with liquid acrylics by liquid acrylic artists.

I think this work is like soft robotics because its very physical and environmentally determined and difficult to simulate.
